The price of freedom is eternal vigilance

Friday Smile

Only in America …do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.

Only in America …do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet coke.

Only in America …do banks leave vault doors open and then chain the pens to the counters.

Only in America … do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and put our useless junk in the garage.

Only in America …do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight.

Only in America …do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering.

Ever wonder …Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin?

Why can’t women put on mascara with their mouth closed?

Why don’t you ever see the headline ‘Psychic Wins Lottery’?

Why is ‘abbreviated’ such a long word?

Why is it that doctors call what they do ‘practice’?

Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?

Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?

Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?

Why isn’t there mouse-flavored cat food?

Why didn’t Noah swat those two mosquitoes?

Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?

You know that indestructible black box that is used on airplanes? Why don’t they make the whole plane out of that stuff?!

Why don’t sheep shrink when it rains?

Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?

If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?

If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport the terminal?

** Have A Great Day **

And thanks to JPG for sharing this one.

Are you smarter than a blonde?

From the web

A blonde participates to a quiz.

The presenter asks the following questions:

b) 99 years
c) 100 years
d) 150 years

The blonde uses her wildcard and does not respond to the question.

2. In which country is the “Panama hut?

a) Brazil
b) Chile
c) Panama
d) Ecuador

The blonde asks for the public’s assistance.

3. During what month of the year do the Russians celebrate the October Revolution?

a) January
b) September
c) October
d) November

The blonde decided to call a friend.

4. What is the name of King George IV?

a) Albert
b) George
c) Manual
d) Jonas

The blonde uses her right to respond ironically.

5. What animal the Canary Islands are named after?

a) Canary
b) Kangaroo
c) Horse
d) Seal

The blonde responds poorly and was eliminated.

Now the right answers:

1. The 100 Years War lasted 116 years (from 1337 to 1453)
2. The “Panama hut
is in Ecuador
3. The celebration of the October Revolution takes place on November 7
4. His real name was Albert, as the King George IV changed his name in 1936
5. The Canary Islands get their name from “seal”, as
a large Monk Seal colony could be found in the islands during the 15th century, known as ‘Cannis Marinus’ in Latin or Sea Dogs (note that other sources explain that the Canary Islands get their name form the wild canary – “sesrinus canarius” -, and yet others sources claim it comes from the dogs).

So are you smarter than a blonde?
